Our mission is to continue to foster the economic development of Hammond. We do this through the revitalization of Hammond, building technology-based businesses, developing and promoting the visual and performing arts and developing minority and women owned businesses.
Over the past five years HDC has:
Brought over 100,000 square feet of downtown office space on line
Created 70,000 sq ft theater building
Trained over 400 entrepreneurs
Funded nearly 50 start-ups
Was instrumental in the creation of Indiana’s first urban certified technology park

Building a foundation for arts and entertainment in downtown Hammond.
The Towle Community Theater serves as a hub for local community theater groups and performers and provides affordable opportunities for regional audiences to experience live theater. The space can also contain a business conference center.
